Original use: facility dedicated to the manufacturing and repairing of machines and motors, in the mechanical-metallurgical sector. The factory started its activity in 1880.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Oliva Artés was one of the most prolific factories in Poblenou, and during the Civil War one of its main activities was producing military equipment.

Author of original building: Claudi Duran Ventosa (architect).

End of industrial activity: 2002.

Current state: in the final stage of architectural rehabilitation to be used as a gallery space for the Museum of History of Barcelona (MUHBA). Inauguration in 2019.

Construction carried by the company Arcadi Pla, S.A., whom I thank for facilitating access to the construction and demolition waste materials of the building.
